Career Counselling for Corporate trainer and Educator jobs

I am Sushma, a contented Corporate Trainer today but never aimed at being one in the beginning. I come from an orthodox family belonging to a small town of West Bengal. I was the timid and weak child among my siblings. All of my life related decisions were taken by my parents until my marriage and I never questioned any of their decisions. My mother was a well educated woman and had gained a good position in a government firm in those days. I went to Convent school. It was a missionary school and one of the best English medium schools in my town and state. I later went to college to study humanities post schooling, completed graduation and post-graduation in English Literature.

Things changed in life after I got married and went all south when my husband had a huge loss in his business and we were going through a huge financial crisis. I decided to start working to support my husband. I managed to take up a job as a teacher in a school. I was paid very less but for me it was more than enough as I was able to be of a little help for my family. As responsibilities grew, the need of money started escalating. After my son’s birth, I started thinking of ways to earn more. I left my job in school and started giving personal tuitions to children at their homes. I earned more than I used to earn in school. I carried on with home tuitions for more than 13 years.

Then came a drastic turn in my life. I went for a walk-in interview for IBM Daksh where I was selected for an executive post and went to Gurgaon in 2004. I learnt and gained a lot of experience working in IBM. I started growing in terms of money and knowledge ever since I went to Gurgaon. One thing I had learnt during those years is that education is very important and that too from a good school adds up to the profile like icing on the cake.

After working for two years in IBM, I took up a job in HSBC in Kolkata near to my hometown. I worked in HSBC for four and half years. Then I migrated to Vadodara in 2010 for some personal reasons. Here I started again with school and worked in one of the most reputed schools of Vadodara. I completed my B ED from IGNOU. I worked in school for more than 5 years. As the expenses were increasing day by day, I started looking for a job that would provide me a good income to sustain. I got an opportunity in a reputed UK based company as a trainer with handsome salary and perks. That was the kind of job I had been looking for.ion, and do what they believe is the right thing to do, not what others tell them to do.

The journey of my career since I completed my Post Graduation has been quite interesting. When I look back at the turns I took to accelerate my career, I feel proud of myself.

I am a sedulous person who worked hard and never gave up despite the hardships. I’m a core believer of the phrase, “nothing is impossible”. I’ve explored various fields to achieve what I have today. With each explored field, I gained knowledge, experience and bettered myself. I believed in myself and I cannot emphasise more on the power that believing in oneself brings. I took up each job as a challenge and gave my best at it. With experience, I developed skills that helped me sail smoothly in a sea of competitive world. I discovered through the highs and the lows of my journey that everyone possesses potential but it’s those who realize it and shape it appropriately become successful in life.

Starting my career from a school teacher to working as Customer support executives in reputed KPO’s and BPO’s and presently working as a Corporate Trainer in a reputed UK based firm reflects my perseverant and undaunted nature.

I would like to pay my gratitude to my mother for what I am today.

My message to all would be to introspect and discover one’s potential to facilitate one’s career.

Believe in your infinite potential. Your only limitations are those you set upon yourself. – Roy T. Bennet
