Hi, I am a DJ Mihir!

I am based in Vadodara, Gujarat. I have been in the industry for over eight years now. However, the journey for me to become a DJ has been a roller-coaster ride. Today, my team and I are the official music partners for various hotels and event management firms. This rise to stardom has been nothing less than a lesson of inspiration to many.

My Childhood and Family

To be a musician or a DJ artist, one has to have the love for music and the passion for achieving in it running in his veins. Born on 22 December 1986, in a Gujarat based music family, in Vadodara, I, got music in my genes. I admit never to have enjoyed studying in my school life. With no real career choice in mind, after my formal education, and spending days idly, I chose to work as a sales executive. I worked in this position in City Bank credit card Company in Gujarat. I was spending my days with no care in the world. My poet father dealt in the sale of musical instruments and even took music very seriously. Raised in that milieu, I felt I understood music, and began to appreciate music.

The Early Years of Orientation

They say, unless you struggle to learn discipline, you are not going anywhere. Hence, I decided to learn the new age trending music genre of Electronic Music. To gain better, and to learn the ropes of the modern music industry and check the demand for music, I worked as an apprentice to many music agencies. My passion for music got a considerable impetus, and with this confidence, I realized my right call lies in the profession as DJ.

Family Support and Opposition

With this particular choice of profession in mind, I approached my father and told him of my wish to set up a sound business and a professional DJ. My father has been my pillar of support, and without much hesitation; he gave in and even agreed to invest in the equipment for me. With my father’s whole-hearted approval, things began looking up for me. Since music and becoming a DJ had by then become my breath and life, even the opposition from other family members meant nothing. They criticized me, objected to my choice, and also reprimanded me for choosing an unprofitable venture I was entering. However, this opposition only strengthened my resolve, and I embarked on my journey to becoming the DJ.

How the Big Break Happened

To gain fame, I began working in cultural events locally. However, it was still very different from the Pro-DJ profession I had dreamt of. My career advancement was happening at a real slow pace at that time. I had already spent three years playing for weddings and sometimes even by offering to play free just for gaining fame. While some people also took advantage of my goodness, my friends and family continued to stand by me. I proceeded to play for random events, and it was in 2011 when I struck gold. The best event company and the Hotel of Baroda hired me to play music as their official DJ. I was always craving for this platform, and since then there has been no looking back.

Self Discovery and the Journey Continues

When I finally became the DJ, I then realized my focus and began discovering my specific genre. I realized I was good at Electro House and Club music. I started preparing for more challenges and more competition with rigorous practice. I found my real skill and worked on making music to suit clients. For a musician, audience appreciation means a lot. My career was by then on a high, and currently, I am working with more than eight five-star and three-star hotels and even with 4 to 5 event hosting firms. I am happy with the progress in my career. In these eight years, I have already played and held the audience captivated in over 2000 parties. As a DJ artist, I have seen meteoric growth. I have plans to grow more by 2020, and this I feel is just the beginning. Music is therapeutic, and there is no limit to how much one can achieve in this field. My journey of a simple boy from a humble Gujarati family to becoming a famous DJ artist is nothing less than an inspiration.
